These improve the grip even more in my opinion.įamous Omron switches make the "Mouse1" and "mouse2" clicks feel very comfortable. I would've liked to see the "rubber pads" in the sides of the mouse that Rival/DeathAdder 2013 and even CM Storm Alcors lasers sensor version Mizar has. It's not too much of a matt surface to be slick for dry palms, which has been a problem for me with many of the other newer mice. The surface feels soft to touch just like CM Storm have stated. Also I haven't seen a single small defect as for now, so the Quality Control seems to be solid for CM Storm. In addition to having good shape the mouse seems to very high build quality. It feels very light in your hand and after a few weeks of gaming the design starts to make sense, for example the Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 now seems too big and difficult to control. For me Alcor feels way more mobile than these listed competitors, thanks to its smaller size and lighter weight. Other newer mice with high quality sensors that "emulate" the shape of MS IE 3.0 are Razer DeathAdder, Zowie EC1 and SteelSeries Rival. The two mice were largely similar to each other, the Alcor being slightly smaller. Mouse design needed a little getting used to, before the Alcor I used Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 which really could be considered a fossil, although a very high quality one. In my opinion there is not a single mouse in this price range that's as good as Alcor on paper. Looking at its price it is also very competitive in that sense. On paper this mouse it looks like a proper high quality mouse. Highly flexible 2meters long mouse cord. Design: Officially a Palm grip, but I use a claw grip. The mouse surface material: "Soft Touch Paint" The maximum tracking speed of 60ips / 20g 1000Hz polling rate / 1ms Polling time by default. High quality and long-lasting Omron switches
The mouse is ergonomically designed for right-handed users Avago Optical Sensor 3090, solid and trusted. As mentioned above, it's a big positive for myself although I understand how some people prefer mice with drivers. The package comes pretty much only with a starting guide since you don't need any drivers. Plug & Play used to be very important, playing in many different countries/lan tournaments. I am a high sensitivity user so Perfect Control Speed/Malfunction speed doesn't affect me as much as a low sens player. Then again when the shape was comfortable but the sensor wasn't as up to par as the best sensor, I still could do solid in game. Tested different mice from Steelseries and Razer, but never really got used to them and easily preferred my old Microsoft IE 3.0.įor me the shape of the mouse has always been the most important, if I can't seem to get used to the shape and the sensor is great, my ingame performance never was at its best.
#CM STORM USB OPTICAL MOUSE DRIVER PROFESSIONAL#
Like I mentioned, being a former Professional gamer I've had to go through many different mice with different organizations having different sponsors. For me Alcor is the first CM Storm mice I get to test, Alcor seemed very interesting and looking at the pictures it looked a lot like the old Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0, just a tad bit smaller. In the recent years CM Storm has been manufacturing competitive gaming mice, some of them very capable of fighting it out in the market for competitive gaming gear. I emailed CM Storm Finland and after a couple of weeks they sent the product for me to review and here it is for anyone interested.
The reason I was interested in the mouse was because it doesn't have the high amount of hype around it as most Steelseries products seem to have before/after release. As a former professional gamer I asked CM Storm about the possibility of reviewing their "newish" mouse called the CM Storm Alcor.
